Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 (Day 60)
Solving word problems by factoring quadratic equations was today's lesson. The students used what they learned yesterday to find the dimensions of rectangular objects. The assignment was Solving Word Problems by Factoring A Worksheet.

Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 (Day 59)
The lesson for today was finding roots of quadratic functions by factoring. The assignment was page 338 # 18 - 20, 37 - 45.

Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 (Day 58)
The students found the roots of quadratic functions by graphing. They graphed quadratic functions and found the domain values when the parabola crossed the x-axis. Sometimes they had to estimate the answers, since the parabola crossed the x-axis between points on a graph. Sometimes there was no real solution since the parabola never crossed the x-axis. The assignment was Graphing Quadratic Functions to Find the Roots worksheet.

Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 (Day 57)
Today's lesson was similar to yesterday's lesson of transformation of quadratic functions. However, we added a number in front of the parenthesis, which either vertically stretched the parabola (>1) or vertically compressed the parabola (<1). The assignment is Graphing Quadratic Functions B Worksheet.

Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 (Day 56)
Today's lesson was transformation of quadratic functions. The students learned how to find the vertex, graph a parabola, find the axis of symmetry, and describe the transformation. The assignment is Graphing Quadratic Functions A Worksheet.
